01

About these terms

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of panelout.com, your PanelOut account, and the products and services you buy from PanelOut Solar LLP (“PanelOut”, “we”, “us” or “our”) — including site visits, balcony and rooftop solar systems, installation, subsidy assistance, monitoring and after-sales support.

By using our website, booking a site visit or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law.

Your quotation or order confirmation may include specific terms for your system. If those terms differ from these, the terms in your quotation or order confirmation apply.

02

Your account

When you book through our website, we create a PanelOut account for you and email you a temporary password. Please change it after your first sign-in and keep your sign-in details private. You are responsible for activity on your account, so let us know straight away if you think someone else has accessed it.

Please keep your name, phone number, address and other details accurate and up to date — we rely on them to prepare your quotation, plan your visit and file paperwork. We may suspend or close accounts that are used fraudulently or in breach of these Terms.

03

Estimates and quotations

Figures shown on our website, in our calculators, in your dashboard and in quotations — including system size, solar generation, savings, payback period and return on investment — are estimates. They are based on average sunlight, your stated electricity bill and tariff, and standard assumptions. Your actual generation and savings depend on location, weather, shading, roof or balcony orientation, how you use electricity, tariff changes and maintenance, and are not guaranteed.

Your final price is confirmed after our engineer surveys your site and assesses the structure, wiring and the products that suit it. Before you place an order, we may revise a quotation if the site survey, component prices, taxes or government rules change — we will always tell you before you commit. Once your order is confirmed and payment is received, the price of your order is fixed.

Prices are in Indian rupees (INR) and, unless your quotation says otherwise, include applicable taxes, the components listed, and standard installation. Additional work your site needs — such as a raised structure, extra cabling or electrical upgrades — will be quoted separately before it is done.

04

Site visits and the visit fee

To book a site visit, you choose a date and time slot and pay a site-visit fee (currently ₹100; the amount is always shown before you pay). The fee is paid online through Cashfree Payments, and your visit is booked only once the payment succeeds.

  • The visit fee is adjusted against your order value if you place an order for the system quoted after that visit.
  • You can reschedule your visit free of charge, as many times as you need, from your dashboard before the visit takes place.
  • You can cancel your visit from your dashboard before it takes place. Your fee stays as credit on your quotation, so you can rebook later without paying again.
  • Please make sure an adult is present and that our engineer can safely access the roof, balcony and electrical panel at the booked time.

Refunds of the visit fee are covered in Cancellations and refunds.

05

Orders and payment

You can place an order from your dashboard once your quotation shows a final price. Placing an order is a request to buy; your order is confirmed once we receive your payment and confirm it to you.

Payment for your solar system is collected by our team by UPI, bank transfer or another method we agree with you. We never ask you to pay into a personal account — always check that payment details come from an official PanelOut phone number or email address. If you choose EMI or a loan, the finance provider’s own terms apply to that arrangement.

Ownership of the system passes to you once it is paid for in full. Responsibility for loss or damage passes to you when the equipment is delivered to your premises.

06

Cancellations and refunds

Site-visit fee

  • If you cancel a visit before it takes place, the fee is kept as credit for a future visit on the same quotation rather than refunded.
  • We refund the fee in full if we cancel your visit and cannot offer you a suitable new slot, if your location turns out to be outside our service area, or if you were charged more than once for the same booking.
  • Once the visit has taken place, the fee is not refundable — it is adjusted against your order if you go ahead.
  • If money was deducted but your booking was not confirmed, the payment is usually reversed automatically by your bank or Cashfree. If it is not, contact us and we will resolve it.

Solar system orders

  • Before dispatch — you can cancel by contacting us. We refund the full amount you paid, less any third-party charges already paid on your behalf (such as DISCOM or net-metering application fees), which we will show you.
  • After dispatch, before installation — you can still cancel. We refund the amount you paid, less reasonable return transport and handling costs, which we will tell you before you confirm the cancellation.
  • After installation — orders cannot be cancelled. Any defects are handled under the warranty.
  • If our survey or installation team finds that your system cannot be safely installed at your site, we will cancel the order and refund everything you paid.

How refunds are paid

Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 working days. Online payments are refunded to the original payment method through Cashfree; offline payments are refunded to your bank account. Your bank may take a few extra days to show the credit. To request a cancellation or refund, email contact@panelout.com or call +91 84477 96796 with your registered phone number.

Products bought from other retailers through links on our website follow that retailer’s return and refund policy (see Products sold by other retailers).

07

Delivery and installation

Once your order is confirmed, we will share the delivery and installation schedule in your dashboard. As a guide, equipment is usually delivered within 2–4 working days of dispatch, and installation takes place within 7–14 working days after your payment clears. On site, balcony kits take a few hours to install and rooftop systems usually take 2–3 days. These timelines are estimates and can change because of stock, weather, site readiness or approvals.

To help us install safely and on time, you agree to:

  • give our team safe access to the installation area, electrical panel and meter on the scheduled dates;
  • make sure your roof, terrace or balcony railing is structurally sound and suitable for the system;
  • obtain any permission needed from your housing society, landlord or building management where it applies; and
  • tell us about anything that could affect the work, such as leaks, weak structures or wiring faults.

If we cannot complete the work because of site conditions you did not tell us about, we will agree a new date with you, and any extra work will be quoted before it is done.

08

Government subsidy and net metering

For eligible residential rooftop systems, we help you apply for the central government subsidy under the PM Surya Ghar scheme and for net metering with your electricity distribution company (DISCOM).

  • The subsidy is decided and paid by the government, not by PanelOut. Eligibility, amounts and timelines are set by the scheme’s rules and can change.
  • Subsidy amounts shown in your quotation are estimates. We do not guarantee that a subsidy will be approved, or when it will be credited to your bank account.
  • Net-metering approval and meter installation are carried out by your DISCOM, on its own timelines.
  • The amount you pay PanelOut is as stated in your confirmed order and does not depend on whether, or when, the subsidy is released.

You agree to give accurate information and documents for these applications, and to keep the electricity connection in the name required by the scheme.

09

Warranty and after-sales support

Solar panels we supply carry a 25-year performance warranty. Inverters, batteries and other components are covered by their manufacturers’ warranties for the periods stated on the warranty documents we give you. Warranty claims are assessed by the manufacturer, and our team will help you raise and follow up every claim.

Warranties do not cover damage caused by:

  • misuse, accidents, or repairs, relocation or changes made by anyone other than PanelOut or an authorised partner;
  • natural disasters, fire, lightning, flooding, theft or vandalism;
  • voltage fluctuations or faults in the grid or your building’s wiring; or
  • not following the cleaning and maintenance guidance we provide.

For support, contact us on +91 84477 96796 or contact@panelout.com.

10

Solar monitoring

If you connect your FoxESS Cloud account to your PanelOut dashboard, we fetch your system’s data with read-only access — we cannot change your inverter settings. You can disconnect at any time from your dashboard.

Monitoring depends on FoxESS’s service and your internet connection, so data may be delayed or temporarily unavailable. Savings, carbon and payback figures in your dashboard are estimates based on standard assumptions.

11

Products sold by other retailers

Some products on our products pages are sold and delivered by other retailers, such as Amazon. When you buy through those links, your purchase is with that retailer, and its terms, pricing, delivery, returns and warranty process apply. Prices shown on our website are for guidance and may differ from the retailer’s current price.

12

Partner programme

Applying through our partner programme does not create a partnership, franchise or any obligation for either side. Any partnership is governed by a separate written agreement signed by both parties, which sets out the deposit, refund schedule, territory, payouts and other terms.

Earnings and return figures on our website are targets that depend on your city, the model you choose and how the business is run. They are not a promise of income.

13

Using our website

When using our website, you agree not to:

  • give false information or book on someone else’s behalf without their permission;
  • use the website for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
  • try to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users’ accounts, or disrupt the website; or
  • copy, scrape or reuse our content, prices or data without our written permission.
14

Intellectual property

The PanelOut name and logo, and the text, graphics, designs and software on this website, belong to PanelOut Solar LLP or its licensors. You may view and print pages for your own personal use, but you may not use them commercially without our written permission.

15

Limitation of liability

We take care to keep our website accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.

To the extent permitted by law, PanelOut is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as loss of expected savings, profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product or service is limited to the amount you paid us for that product or service.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, natural disasters, strikes, supply shortages, government action, or delays by DISCOMs and other authorities.

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.

16

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a concern, please contact us first — most issues can be resolved quickly. Subject to your rights as a consumer, any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts at the place of PanelOut Solar LLP’s registered office.

17

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. Changes apply to bookings and orders made after they are published; your confirmed orders continue under the Terms that applied when you placed them.
